The marriage of my Mom and my Dad
lasted longer then any quick fad
relationship with roots
with millions of off shoots
a fifty year stint is not half bad.
To have lived many different places
supplying our needs, meeting new faces
with your children in tow
provided home to grow
remembering all the embraces.
In pine trees and the desert alike
you watched your children riding their trike
together you raised us
every need more or less
as we moved from our trike to our bike.
Even though years brought many a fight
you both endured with all of your might
to find the right answers
in sickness the right cures
provided a bed, room, and a light.
Now your children have grown to adults
you love and support them through their faults
still side by side today
while your grandchildren play
hold your hands in sunshine, to exalt.
